I have been interviewing for Quant Analyst position at Point72 for over a month now. I've had 5 rounds with different people + plus hackerrank test already. They're asking to schedule two more rounds. What should I expect in these two rounds? Also, is this done because they cannot decide between two or three final candidates? Or perhaps this is just a delay tactic?
I have no particular insight into Point72 but a company generally sets up additional rounds if they feel they didn't get adequate signal in the previous rounds in a specific area or if they got mixed signal and want confirmation on whether or not to proceed with an offer.
Update: The two rounds they asked to schedule were live coding interviews So far, I have had: 1. HR Round 2. Hiring Manager 3. Sr. Teammate 4. Head of Dept 5. Jr. Teammate 6. Hackerrank test 7. Live coding session with Sr. Dev 8. Live coding session with Jr. Dev Now, they have asked to schedule another round. I have no idea what they're hiring for anymore I'm not a CS/Tech guy. Is this normal? It's mentally tiring Edit HR replied: 1 more round after the current one. So tally goes to 10 🤦♂️ What the f*** is this?!?!?! Quant peeps. Is it really this tough to make it? Someone help me pls
Did you get an offer finally?

I'm rejecting any interview that is LC
They're not going to waste hours on interviews just to delay a candidate. It's pretty easy to tell someone to wait 2-3 weeks no?
So is the interview process really that long for all candidates?
No it's based on team/role
