Despite being 12% of the population, migrants commit 67% of gang rapes in Germany
I received a call for interview with Samsung at San Jose team in memory division. Yet to receive more details. I wanted to understand - is it a good option to jump ship from Intel to Samsung? I know Samsung is the leader in nand memory, but have read in other posts about culture and WLB being very bad. Could anyone throw some light on this?
always leave intel
I saw there are always some people work at Samsung building in San Jose. At night, weekend, & holiday.
Janitorial staff ?
Even during pandemic?
A lot of my ex colleagues work there. And they are all still there. So it may not be as bad as we hear. For staff level 175 base + 20 % bonus + 75k( over 3 years, sign on ) is what I heard. No RSUs though. At Micron you might get RSUs but they don't give the entire bonus. WDC is spinning its flash team into a separate company. So a little bit more chaotic there. All the best.
Tell me More About this WDC thingy
What happened to Kioxia IPO? Lol they chickened out ? That would have been a humiliating valuation of WDC.
If this was Samsung HQ I would say yes but...
Unless you are Korean, you will feel very uncomfortable after you join and work there.
Read many Tik Tok culture being hard to cope unless you are Chinese. Is it the same way where docs are in Korean and decision makers are Korean so you'd feel "uncomfortable" due to cultural differences?
rejected the offer couple days ago for same position.
Well, expect a bad WLB and a Korean dominated workplace. They do not give any RSUs so your TC comprises of just the base and bonuses. But yes, they are leaders in memory.
I would ask the hiring manager about the expectations and work load, they are mostly honest about it
Run and donāt look back :) unless you are a korean your career and life is fucked
Samsung's DRAM or NAND division? Are you in Intel's NAND division? I personally don't want to work in that culture.
Prefer not to give out more, but it is nand/optane division.
Optane is a dead end, you could say āis where engineers go to Dieā, if you already in the band space āCultureā, than is a matter of choice
