Mentor, grade 8.. salary they will probably match Synopsys.. May be 140-160.. I am not sure cadence, but guessing.. principal engineer and salary will be better than mentor or snps

I am at T9 at Mentor. New hire SMTS. PhD + 2.5 YOE. Base 170k, 10% bonus, 17k joining, 5k relo, 17k at 1.5 yr and 17k at 2.5yr. TC: 209k at Bay Area.
Is T9 SMTS? 170k seems pretty good for SMTS!!!
OP, are you R&D or AE?
This seems like wide open question.. ask about specific grade or position.. at the end one should focus on TC.. after certain point it’s becomes challenging to get better title.. especially after sr staff or sr manager in Synopsys world..
