[Google is God] What would you choose as a new grad?
Apple vs Google: Job - ML vs SDE(not ML) Manager - Great vs Unknown Brand - Tier3 vs Tier 1 on Blind WLB - Normal vs Best I chose Apple to start my career. Some friends at Stanford went to FB or hot startups instead of G. Does it make sense on Blind? It seems that Google is the only god in the universe on Blind. What would you choose as a new grad in my situation? TC: 180K + 50K Sign on
Choose to have big muscles and impress the ladies - you’re just gonna be depressed if you take either of these. Better to find something with low pay and get some bar friends.
Apple is tier 3 brand?
Makes sense for some new grads to prefer FB over Google, because career progression/promotions can be faster there. At Google, L4 is terminal, so many can not even hit senior - ever. At Facebook, some new grads make senior in less than 3 yrs. Some in less than 2.
Then there’s that guy who was a manager at google after a few projects from that movie. Lol.
Makes sense to me. Apple should be great, especially in ML. FB and G were disappointing from my experience.
Team > Company especially if you want to do ML. Of course I am biased lol. You will have a better chance of doing ML at Google or anywhere else with that start since everyone is hot for actual ML experience.
