Planning to invest 100k and looking to cashout an year from now. Expecting the best possible return (can be low) with no to very low risk. Thinking about betterment or wealthfront. Any other alternatives?
Treasury bonds
Specifically short term. Yields on long term bonds are low and their resale value is likely to drop in the next year.
100X leverage crypto trading.
-100X downfall too, no thank you!!
Short term you should just put it into CD if youâre not going to touch it. Investment risks you taking a loss.
CD. Or 1 year T-bill
Index fund or ETF
Yes, except add the word âinverseâ in front.
Index funds or ETFs are not zero to low risk. During a down year, they can lose quite a bit of value unlike T Bonds or CD or the 2+% savings accounts
You will take on interest rate risk with savings accounts. I would do treasuries/CD/muni/short term corporate bonds( strong cash flowing ones like Microsoft/Apple ) if you don't need immediate liquidity. Except for corporate bonds these rates are lower than inflation so you you are going to lose some value..
Vanguard money market
Got 200k in there right now
Noice.
Savings accounts are easier than cds or tbills
I did chase diversified investment, goes 55% in binds. Made 6%
The best possible return for no risk is one of them 2%+ bank accounts everywhere now.
Which bank gives 2%?
Ally?
