History shows that the longer your money is in the market, the better it will do. I’d say dump it all in an index fund and forget about it, no need to spread it over multiple deposits if you’re in it for the long term

Leaning towards agree. Op should spread it over the next 1-2 years just in case. 2-10 year yield curve inversion is a recession predictor.
A really bad recession will result in rapid inflation. Holding cash is the worst thing you can do in that situation. Buy slowly depreciating goods like furniture and artifacts instead.
