I’m currently working in a digital strategy director role for a mid-sized creative agency (3 months). Before this I spent seven years working in a similar role in the ad technolgy space and also as a director of marketing for an e-commerce start up. My undergraduate degree isn’t in a related field. Is this on par? What should be my next move?
What’s your undergrad degree in and what’s your yeo?
It’s in communications with a minor in behavioral science. Sorry, what is yeo? Years of experience? If so 7-8 that are relevant, and 5 in a “Director” position.
Most people here are tech workers with engineering backgrounds, so I’m not sure how informed they may be about salaries in your field.
What was your TC before this role?
My TC before this role was 100k a year plus a performance-based bonus (usually between 60-75K).
Even IBM pays more than that! Managers of digital marketing make over 180k. Digital strategist make 130-190
Advertising is such a crock. You're all way over-worked for peanut TC.
Are you an individual contributor?
If you need to ask this question, then you probably are underpaid.
Lmao title inflation
