13 years ago I was a hardcore crackhead...

From 1997-2006 I was addicted to alcohol, cocaine, meth and eventually crack cocaine. Living on the streets for a period of time. Somehow avoided jail, institutions and death. I led a miserable and pathetic existence. Got clean & sober in May of '06. I was 31 years old. I had no college degree, no education and no work experience worth noting. But, I've always been a keen observer of the world, an exceptional listener, a passionate person and a straight-up hustler with work ethic and motivation to grow. Now I'm 44 years old. After a super late start to my career, I've managed to wedge my way (legitimately) into the world of tech and corporate America. I've had to learn everything on the fly. I've had to accept everything that comes with late blooming. I could look back with regret for the missed opportunity of starting in my early 20s instead of my early 30s. Yes, I'd probably have doubled my TC by now. Or, I can look back with more gratitude than the average stiff feels in a lifetime. The odds were totally stacked against me, and I came out on top.
