Working at Intel. Got 221g in India. Does anyone know if Intel supports wfh and if salary is continued? Any tax/other implications?
If you are going to be in India, there will be tax implications working from there for over 6 months. I believe you lose your NRI status etc. Had a friend deal with this.
Thanks for the response guys!
Fragomen ia wayyy too slooowww. They receive notices from USCIS very quickly but then spend months delivering it to applicants. I dont think they deliberately do this, most lijely they are way understaffed. Golden rule with Fragomen is to keep following up with them wvery 3-4 weeks
I think if the delay is more than a month, intel pays you the local salary.
No
You will get standard paid time off and any additional time will be without pay. You cannot be paid legally since you are not in the country and your employment is tied to your work location specified in your labor certification. Enjoy your time at home and keep your manager updated. For your own peace of mind maintain expectation of 2-3 month time frame before you receive your stamped passport back.
No. Itโs treated the same as an international assignment.

Contact Fragomen. Most of the times visa gets approved in a week or so. But worst case scenario of taking 2 months you could work from India and they will transfer you to Intel India org internally for taxation purposes .
