Thats TC. Thats the max I’m seeing company at my level offering (Senior/6 years experience). What would be a 330k TC in Seattle equivalent for Silicon Valley?
If you already own a house in Seattle then 330k makes sense there. Over here its hard to find good home in under 1.5m and extra 10% tax
I'd take the 330 in Seattle. Just state income tax alone sets you back $52K. So it's really $330k vs $348k. Then you have to factor in Federal tax too, so the extra $18K is really just $10k take home. I don't think that's enough to make up for housing in the bay area.
This
Seattle, no brainer
Senior SDE at Microsoft makes 330k on Seattle ? Seriously ?
I’d be more surprised someone with 6 yoe is considered senior.
Microsoft would be broke already if the paid so much
Silicon Valley, no brainer. Much more upside and higher leverage if you make to buy a house. But the problem is that it’s hard to make 400K for your experience.
If short term money then Seattle, if quality of life and career then SF. Not sure how we are supposed to help you here...
Are you implying silicon valley has a higher quality of life than Seattle? Granted, if you live on the east side of Seattle maybe. But SV is a boring strip mall.
Cheaper housing and less tax in seattle. They probably will break even for you. I would say pick based on where your family will be happier.
Are you talking new offers you got or this is your pay in Microsoft currently ? If later is true then dude good for you.

We're talking a 17.5% salary difference here. Difference between the housing cost in Silicon Valley and Seattle is bigger than 17.5%.
Plus no state income tax in WA
