I always thought 200k TC was alot, back in the day. Honestly I've never heard of such high TC except on blind. I am now finding out that new grads get 200k TC. Is it really true? Have I undersolf my self? I am a pretty good engineer. I pay attention to best practices, stay up to date and always try to innovate. What am I doing wrong? What TC should I be making? If you count pre college years my real programming YOE is more like 10 YOE. Honestly, new grads are pretty trashy engineers. They have alot of mistakes to make before they get good. In general. Why are companies dishing out a quarter mil to these guys and not more to me? I guess I just haven't tried that hard to get a better salary?
Maybe not work at eBay 😁
What's wrong with eBay? Do they not pay well? 200k TC was 20k more than I got at my last job so I took the job. But I had an FB interview I could have gone to. Did I make a mistake?
Thing is, I found out on blind a new grad at eBay is making same as me. That's what bugged me.
only very few new grads making 200k TC and they will work tireless like a machine. You can’t.
or they started leetcoding in middle school
300TC is possible for new grad(MS)
I don’t think it’s true if it’s a public company
Very very few new grads get 200k. Also, you shouldn't take Blind posts too seriously, there is absolutely nothing stopping people from adding 50k to their TC when posting here.
Stop worrying about what other's are doing and focus on you. Some people have TCs of a million. If I really think about that I'll probably lose my sanity.
As far as I know, even FAANG don’t offer 200k to new graduate. Eg, 200k is for SDE2 in Amazon. New graduate can only get about 150k
The 90 percentile or higher software engineer salary numbers are oversampled on Blind.
Standard new grad offer at Google is about 150K. With competing offer and negotiation it can get close to 200K, but most get less.
Base or TC?
This is TC. Typical base would be 120.
New grads make a lot more than 200k. Their singing bonuses alone is up to half that before the first paycheck or vest.
Start Leetcoding mate! Tbh these new grad offers are blowing my mind too these days
