Why is it so difficult to have interviews for internships ? I am currently interviewing for Google and interviewed for Facebook, Microsoft and others. I already have some FT offers. None of them accepted to interview me for an internship because I have to do a 6 months internship for my last semester and they require you to go back to school after the internship or/and the internship length must be <= 3 months. In France we are required to do a 6 months internship in lieu of the master thesis. Do you know any tech company that doesn’t have these requirements?
HubSpot has a 6-month coop program if you’re interested
Do they take international candidates from india/china?
I know Microsoft did internships for 6-12 months periods for those with co-op program requirements (where certain length internship is required to graduate).
They give me a full time offer but told me that for internship they require that I return to school after the internship so there is no way
That’s why you apply for masters, get accepted, and tell them you are going to do masters after internship. Go to US for internship, and then come back and cancel masters 😉. I’m completely serious. You could also do masters anyway and use it to intern at more US companies - it is an amazing experience. It is a J-1 visa requirement where you must be going back to study.
Next summer I have a 3 months internship. I study computer science in France. So I am thinking to try to apply to american companies. Did you finally get your intern in America? If yes, could tell how you did?
I did all my internships at American companies in Europe (outside France)
Thank you for repleying. I' ll try to have my next intern either in America or in Canada. Otherwise i'll find some international company in EU as you did.

Two reasons. Hiring managers don’t want to have to babysit an intern for six months. Most intern programs are either open and aligned with summer break, or the company already has relationships with the school for longer term internship programs.
That’s bad news as it’s required by my university to graduate
What companies does your university have relationships with?
