This is my first management position, and its remote. I was offered $80k at Cisco and Verizon for engineer positions. I'm thinking $10k is worth it for being remote, but I want to see what others think. 4 years IT experience, no degree, CCNA, 5 CompTIA certs
IT Manager? Sounds like manager of Desktop Support teams? I think you’re still pretty early in your career. Why not continue your engineering track? Unless you just hate doing that type of work and want to be in management. It’s not unheard of to become a network architect and transition straight into a director role. Don’t think this is your only chance.
$68k is a bit on the low side for a manager, but as it's your first management position that's not too bad. The IT manager I worked under 5 years ago made $54k. I've since changed teams but that same position now pays $75k where I am. However the person has about 10yoe as a manager.
That’s really low. I just landed and IT Support Manager role at $120K. Granted I live in SF... but still seems low.
Seems a bit low
