A startup CEO wrote I'd be perfect for a job & wanted to discuss it, 3 wks later he never called. WTF?

If a CEO says something you should be able to rely on it. His word should not be worthless.

Yes but itโ€™s a startup CEO. His wordโ€™s worth is relative to his companyโ€™s.

CEOs contact so many people as potential matches. Maybe they found some1 already before your call. Maybe their company had some major shift, maybe he was just too busy.
But i do agree with you that if there was a scheduled call, the CEO should hv canceled it and let you know

He/she found someone better. Nothing unusual here. You think he/she only reached out to 1 person lol?

The point is that if you're the CEO your word should not be worthless.

What makes you think that? Most non-technical CEOs are total bullshiters.

Did he give you his word? CEO is chief sales person for a company. If it helps there's no way they would have hired you regardless.

Jobs are like relationships, if the person isn't interested anymore they aren't interested. Don't take it personally. If you aren't Chad you might have to go through a bunch of rejections.
