Feels lazy. Why not Austin, Denver, or Pittsburgh instead of NYC? I understand government dollars factor into the DC decision.
Marijuana, “feels lazy” feels stupid
Lots of young and energetic tech talents in NYC. Austin, Denver and Pittsburgh are for old and lazy people, which Amazon try to avoid.
Mass transit was a criterion. Are there mass transit options in Austin, Denver and Pittsburgh?
I’m going to go with NYC/DC have every conceivable option for public transit (even ferries in NYC) from various types of living areas in multiple states, immediate local access to government and global economic figures and institutions, are surrounded by MANY handfuls of world-class higher-Ed with which to build talent pipelines, access to at least three airports in DC and 5-6 in NY, as well as being on the same high-speed rail line and interstate highway as each other.
NYC has only 3 major airports, not 5-6. All of them are old and dirty. There is not a single high-speed rail line in the US. The Amtrak and Long Island Rail Road are on par with third world country. The interstate highway in Northeast are full of potholes and they still dare to charge you astronomical number of tolls. You have to pay $15 toll to drive across Hudson River!
Newark, LGA, JFK, HPN, Islip, And heck maybe Stewart and Teterboro could count.

@OP It's in Arlington, VA; it's not in DC.
Yeah but it’s unquestionably the DC metro area, and even has WMATA subway stops.
Gotcha. Thanks
