I have an on-site super day with lunch in Seattle coming up and was wondering what should I wear? Typically I wear a suit for interviews, but I’ve been told the office is very casual. It’s a sales position so any insight would be great!
Wear something that signals frugality and customer obsession
Just guessing, but I suspect for a sales position a suit would be OK. Suit would be unusual for an eng position though.
What position? For an sde - buttoned down and slacks and you’ll already be fancier than anybody you will meet. Literally a sweatshirt and jeans will do...
It’s an AE (Account Executive) position
What about a blazer with plaid button down underneath and wool slack? No ties.
Ask the recruiter
Dress to impress. Your appearance is important, it’s an outward reflection of your interest in working at the company you’re interviewing with. Once you get hired you can wear jeans and a graphic T.
For sales, definitely a button down and jacket.
The sales guy who was part of my interview loop wore jeans and a v-neck shirt. Had a full sleeve tattoo. I felt completely overdressed with a sweater and polo underneath lol
Just dress nice and clean that's all
For tech companies I wear nice jeans, collared shirt, and dress shoes. Worked well so far... I look a little nicer than my interviewers.
I would wear carbon black suits
