There was a quite bold statement from Subbu Allamaraju from Expedia. “Serverless patterns are pulling the rug from underneath container cluster managers faster than the latter [are] becoming industrial grade.” https://twitter.com/sallamar/status/894727415032823810 As I know Expedia uses AWS Lambda heavily. It might be work for them but our industry is moving to "multi-cloud". I see no way for AWS Lambda to win in this case unless they can open it as Google did it with the better Borg AKA Kubernetes. What do you think?
You mean OpenWhisk vs Kubernetes?
No, meant AWS Lambda as a warpone that Amazon can use to protect their cloud.
The weapon that AWS uses to protect their cloud is their uptime and their customer base. If Walmart wants to goof off and waste time doing multi cloud they're leaving the door wide open to being out maneuvered by their competitors.
Why is an opinion from Wal-Mart labs of value?

Container Cluster and cross platform VPC aka multi cloud options will win over serverless imho. Hmm let them run a series of connected Lambda to overcome 300 sec limitation with same impact as Kubernetes! lol myopic view bro. Google is giving AWS a good run to say the least
Google cloud is not giving anyone a good run for their money
Haha do u even use cloud?
