AWS SDM / Director compensation
About to get on a call with a recruiter to discuss comp. What is the total comp for engineering director / SDM with >18 years today experience, 8 yrs management experience? I heard base is fixed at 160ish. Is this true? Seattle. Will need to relocate - do they offer relocation ?

L7 450k-500k would be more realistic I think.

Also - SDM is a L6 or L7 role. A director is a L8 role. Make it clear what you are getting into.
I actually interviewed for both roles 😀, two different teams

OP, which position / comp did you end up accepting?
Yes relocation is offered. Comp depends on level. Base is fixed at 160. If you get offered senior manager/L7 shoot for 400k-600k total comp.
