AWS professional services cloud migration specialist role
Hi All, I have accepted an offer from AWS proserv group for cloud migration specialist role. I got to know from HM that role is about getting customer to consume AWS Services. I would appreciate if someone can tell me about the type of work that would be involved. Is it going to be hands on coding to help customer put their application on AWS or just build the design for the same etc. Anything else I should be aware of before joining. This role is in India. They are offering 30 base, 11 and 9 (1st and 2nd year) sign-in bonus, and 25 units of RSUs.

Hi, have you joined. If joined or others plz let me know How much traveling is there in proserv, what is new joinee aws cloud training process, what is role like directly to work with customers or partners
I don’t think it’s hands on coding. The nature of the job is to help customers deploy/migrate their applications on/to AWS. Also if the interview didn’t focus primarily on coding, then the role should not have it. Having said that I’m curious to ask, why did you decide to accept the offer without knowing the job responsibilities?
Hi, thanks for the reply. I accepted the offer because HM did give me clarification on what this role would involve. They did mention that the role primarily deal with helping customers onboard to AWS and it would involve building POCs, design, etc (basically whatever is required for the migration to happen). I wanted to know from someone who is actually doing the role to see what type of work generally comes though. Interview had two rounds related to coding but not in depth and it did not concentrate on DS/Algo type of questions.
If not DS and algo, was it more of object oriented design based questions? Can I DM you? I have mine coming up in few days
