I recently accepted an offer from a smaller SaaS company, the joining date is is out a couple of months. TC: 170k base, 10k joining, 20k options. Should I still shop around with companies like Fb, LinkedIn etc and try to get into multiple offer compensation negotiations? My role is Senior Technical Program manager. What numbers am I looking at with Fb and Linkedin?
Of course. Always shop around
What numbers I can stretch Fb and LinkedIn to?
Seriously!?!
If you don’t want to join then don’t, but no, you should’ve shopped around before. They won’t negotiate with you after you’ve accepted, though you can renege if you want to burn that bridge. Why didn’t you negotiate beforehand?? You should realize it always comes down to leverage. You either get it or be happy with what you get.
No. Valley is the small world.
Not if you don’t have a strong reason. Recruiters from different companies have a strong network among each other and I have heard they keep a “naughty list” of sorts. You don’t want to be on that list if you want to switch again anytime soon.
This is bullshit.
Sure.. who’s stopping you? Believe what you want :)
Shop around.
You should have shopped around and scheduled interviews around the same time. After accepting the offer you should join the company. Unless you want to burn bridges.
Ofcourse.. The salary you mentioned is below average for your kind. You deserve better
Kind of a dick move...

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
No trolling? You must be the worst TPM I know
Probably the best but you’ll never meet me and even if do I’ll never prioritize your features.
