Administrative processing H1B
Does Administrative Processing lead to a 221G. I dropped off my passport for H1b visa stamping on Dec 17 and this is what the latest status shows - Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. For more information, please visit U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad. Anyone else receive this. Does every drop box case go through Administrative Processing? Anyone else dealing with this currently?
I see many of these delays happening now. Unfortunately it seems to be too common
Exactly so doesnt matter if u come to india or drive across to canada.
Mine was pretty smooth at hyd Dropbox. Dropped early December and got passport back in a week. I even changed employer from last time around and it did not seem to matter
Can you do dropbox if you changed employer?

Don’t worry about it. That is usual status. I got this status and got worried too but received stamped passport in time.
Did my stamping in Dec 2017. Same thing happened. Got the passport back in a week.
Did you eventually your visa @jixk43? If yes, how long did it take after the status said "Administrative processing"? and did it turn into an RFE or 221(g)? Mine currently says "Administrative processing", 1 week after my dropbox day.
How much wait did you have do?
No. Infact, even I dropped off my passport on Dec 17th at Mumbai. Ours got approved last Friday. For the first few days it was "Application received" and part couple of days was 'Admin processing". Good luck.
