I am currently in sales for a luxury auto dealership. I am still new to the business. Coming to work use to be fun and enjoyable. Now the sales managers will cuss and fuss at you for doing what they tell you do. They provided no training, then raise hell when you mess us. There is no inspiration or motivation here period! I have more than a decade of law enforcement experience and have a military background and combat leadership experience. I am beginning my search dor a new career. I just do not know where to begin. I have checked job boards and posted my resume, but nothing interest me yet. Can anyone provide any guidance on what to do?? Thanks in advance!!
Pick a career path with a potential and something that you enjoy to do. My suggestion will be the tech industry, even junior positions pay around 80K, that is probably 10 years max in dealership.
You should switch to high-tech industry especially choose companies that have various incentive programs for veterans to join. Somebody mentioned previously you need to pick a path that you’re interested in. It could be even sales if you like it. Additionally make sure you have a great LinkedIn profile and resume.
Three years ago I didn't know anything about computers and worked at a car dealership washing cars. I was in the same position as you, didn't know what to do for a career, had no degree, etc. I studied programming hard for a year and landed a job (contract) in Silicon Valley that paid six figures. It's totally possible to change careers into tech if you're willing to put in the work! Feel free to DM me if you want and I can help get a plan together for you.
Salesforce has some programs to help vets get established as admins. Or even if they don’t it’s a pretty straight forward path to a decent career.

No point of going to the US anymore?
Run away!!! As fast and as far as you can. Car dealerships in the US are HELL. And this is only from a customer’s standpoint. Can’t imagine how sales people can keep up with it all.
You’re right! It is hell. I am trying my best to get out of here as fast as possible. I need a place where I can be inspired and be apart of a great team.
I wish I could help. But truth is, I’m sure there are some car dealerships where you can find what you’re looking for. But sales is mostly riddle with stress, low margins, long hours, and hiding the truth from the customer. No matter which industry you’re in. Ever thought of getting a certification or learning a trade?
