Looking for input on how i should progress my swe career from where i am now.

Current TC: 50k
YOE: 4 months.

Background: No degree (some bio), self taught.

Currently a full stack dev with Typescript, React, Redux on FE and Java, AEM on BE. Medium sized non tech company with my team of 5, the only ones working on website project. Converting 15 websites that are 10+ yrs old into a new multisite with modern tech.

Iโ€™m focused learning FE > BE on the job right now (eventually will learn BE) and studying data structures and algorithms before and after work.

My regular routine is:
Wake up 6:30am -> get ready and study until 8:30am -> work 9am to 5pm -> gym, eat spend some time with family/girlfriend, study as much as i can then sleep at 11pm-12am.

Goal: Move to a tech company in either SF, seattle or portland. Dream is FANG or any other big tech and work my up from there.

Keep going and apply at 1-1.5yr mark after plenty LC. Allow yourself some break days to not burn out. But keep going and you will make it.

Thank you. Around 1-1.5yr mark, how likely is getting the interview even with a referrals at FANG-small tech companies? Considering no degree

Hard to say but staying longer wonโ€™t help your odds. Your next jump should make you more marketable even if itโ€™s not a tier 1 company. Then keep pressing till youโ€™re there. You may get an interview at a dream company or you may just get them at decent ones that make moving sensible. Just keep progressing.

The fact that you don't want to give up and work really hard is enough to make you successful.
Keep practicing DS/ Algo and read about system Design in general.

I'm self taught. LC will only help with interviews. For real career growth, work on pet projects, write plenty of code, solve hard problems till you get to a job that pays you to solve hard problems.
