Advice on TC for Oracle - IC 2 SDE position
I got an initial offer from Oracle for SDE role at IC2 level for cloud team and feel that they low balled me. Need some advice on how much is the norm for IC2 level position for base, RSU and sign on. Position: Staff Software engineer Level: IC 2 Location: Seattle YOE: 3.5 TC: 150k (base-110k, RSU- 20k, sign on- 10k, relocation 10k )
That’s a low ball offer. Negotiate to see if they can make it 180+. Anything below 175 in Seattle isnt worth moving to oracle from wherever you are.
Yeah i was actually expecting TC ~ 200 k But the good part is, they were more than willing to negotiate. Now I have to give my number, thus wanted info from Oracle folks about how much usually they pay Staff Software engineers.

Yes from Walmart for SDE3. Will try to negotiate. But I don't think Walmart would be able to come near the initial 150k too. How do you suggest i negotiate in that case ?
The Walmart offer wont help you. You should still tell them about it, but know that they wont care. I had a friend recently join Oracle cloud as IC2 with 180, but he got that because he had a competing offer from aws. Without offers from aws or azure you honestly do not have much leverage in the negotiation.
I think base can be 120? And, RSU 30?
