Hi All, i need some advice on switching job from my current Senior SWE role in Arizona. i work full stack with great work life balance but poor work culture and team. Current TC - Base 97K + Unlimited Flexible PTO and approx 2-3k yearly bonus + Benefits. Is it worth switching to a company which offers 15-20K more with 10 accrued PTO and decent benefits but not not as current one or keep trying for significant pay in other states or Az? please advice.
I have been at my current company since 4 years and have atleast taken 30 days off a year and balanced work life balance. People dont care when you come or go or if you work remote but no growth so far. Its a good and bad thing hence want to see better opportunities. new job is 30 miles drive
Does the 30 days off PTO include weekends? If not, then the flexibility and PTO that you get at your current job are worth more than 15-20K per year hands down. My instinct is to say aim much higher. However, you’d have to do some math. Your TC is low but at the same time I’m not completely sure if it’s worth moving to the Bay Area for example for 200K a year for instance... But the prospect of being able to save 50K+ a year excites you, then I’d say go for it. If you need more, then aim for at least 250K in the Bay or at least 200K in Seattle.
30 days not including weekends. Only concern is no growth or people dont care about your growth or giving you a raise.
30-40 days off/yr is about right. 3-4 weeks of vaca + holidays.
Yes. Take the new job. Unlimited PTO is a scam and not worth it.
