I’m joining Apple next year as a new grad in Operations. Do you have any advice for me on how to do well? What are some downsides of working at Apple?
Secrecy culture gets to you after a while. After the 20th internal NDA it gets a little old.
Operations is all about excellent presentations and kissing execs ass.
which operatons? :)
what kind of operations? like network / infra operations or global/business operations? anyway, easy answer. you are a new grad. you are novice. just absorb and learn for your first 2 years. if you think they are doing something wrong, 5x check that because it's probably you. not always, but most likely.
Not sure on advice, but really I can’t think of any major upsides besides the name brand. Apple is a shitty place to work.
Apple is great place to work with challenging work and for learning new things. Find a good team though
It depends on the org. Some are horrible some are great. If you get to bad one, hold for a year and move to a better one. There is also a chance of reorg. In this case your bad one can become great and a good one can become horrible.
