Aerospace to Tech - Seattle Area

Looking for a ballpark on levels and/or TC I can shoot for from Google/Amazon/Microsoft/Facebook in the Seattle area. I have 3 YoE, but my education and prior work experience are all in aerospace engineering. I create simulation software for modeling rocket dynamics currently. How will this background be received in a purely software focused industry? Does Blue Origin (Bezo's space company) have any reputation in these circles? What levels would be recommended for my applications? I've been grinding 8-10hrs a day for 3 months studying computer science core topics and systems design, with 3 months to go before I start applying. Thanks!

Why are you moving away from aerospace? TC reasons?

TC is definitely a motivation. Building a career in tech is much more appealing to me in that it involves a much more practical skill set than I am developing in my current field. I am also looking for new fresh challenges to keep life interesting, and I've always thoroughly enjoyed creating software. Lastly it would be nice to make products that people actually get to use in my lifetime!

What is the TC range in aerospace. Someone I know is interested in the field, wanted me to explore the career possibilities for aerospace.

I could see your background getting enough attention for interviews

Good luck!

Try self driving companies. Your science background will be highly valued. Although I think only Cruise has an office in Seat
