My lawyer from fragoment said that I can change job family (engineer to pm for example) right away instead of waiting for 6 months like others have said in here. What do you guys think? Does this affect the citizenship interview 5 years from now?
Yeah I did that
Consult with an independent immigration firm instead of your company lawyer, they always have best interests of your company in mind not YOU. Schedule an appt with an attorney on Murthy.com and get clarification.
Does this affect neutralization 5 years from now though?
Nope, naturalization application doesn't even ask about employer I don't think. Just don't travel to Russia, Iran, or ME. If you do travel, just remember the dates and what you did there
this is wrong. Many people are questioned at naturalization interview for jumping ship a few months after getting GC. Same employer but different job family is fine afaik.
That question wouldn't be a make or break thing. The interview consists of US civics knowledge, and just verify you're not a psychopath. Changing jobs wont reflect poorly for you.
It’s 6 month after 140 is approved. Not after gc
6 months thing refers to after getting an EAD (red-ish colored card). But once you have the actual green card, there are zero restrictions.
You should be able to change it right away. Once you have your green card, nobody bothers checking with USCIS if you are okay to be employed
