Walled guardens allow for pressure to be used to censor. The internet was made to make this hard to do and over the last 20 years, government and industry has worked to centralize the internet and make it easier to control.

He has every right to run a website, use his millions to hire people to build it out, and dispense from that forum. Inversely, services whether corporate, group, or individuals shouldn't be required to support others in the name of the internet. Remember that people chose those walled gardens and can leave or create new ones, this is the freedom of the internet.

You’re correct but we’re slowly setting a precedent where we allow corporations to control our voice. Just because you don’t like what someone says isn’t a reason to censor it.

@TheNoid you're free to stop using Apple's services at any time. You're also free to seek out the content that Apple no longer carries. I see no problem here.

Until you realize that payment processors are now censoring people. Just build your own separate financial system bro!

He gained his audience because of walled gardens. Only fair that he can lose it because of that as well.

This guy is a classic example that "freedom of speech" must have its limitations. I can't believe that this troll victimized people who had already lost their children in school shootings. Republican party has reached the bottom.

As they always say, “freedom of speech isn’t free of consequences”!

Finally, if we can do the same to everyone else I disagree with that’d be fantastic.

    Silence all dissonance!

Your liar is my disagreement, which is precisely why we need to move forward with silencing other idiots!

Just so we’re clear, we should be silencing people that don’t consistently state facts? Because then there’s people on my political side that would be banned too. I’m not sure we should do that.

They aren’t deceptive business practices though. “deceptive trade practice is activity by an individual or business that is meant to mislead or lure the public into purchasing a product or service”

As I understand it, he’s not selling any product or service via the Apple platform. It’s a podcast and app. No?

But I’m just glad we got rid of him. We need to silence every person that is similar

Who are the other persons that need silencing?

    • Amazon / Eng onMyWay
@meliodas was he selling those products in the Apple platform, or on his website?

@slumdog well, we can start with silencing all Fox News personalities (or the company itself), and Breitbart editors

Serious question: what did he ever say that was so bad as to make him banned from Apple, Twitter, etc? KKK groups, etc I can understand (but still disagree with). But this dude was just funny.

    What am I missing?

Alex Jones is truly evil. It’s not even disputable except to his fanatical followers. Not shedding a tear for him.

I’m not an Alex Jones fan, but it seems weird that he is the one being targeted. There are plenty of other worse influencers flying under the radar

No actually like Louis Farrakhan who spews racism against whites and Jews on Twitter. Or Linda Sarsour who associates with actual terrorists.

Yeah that Sarsour lady is scary. I concur. But the president is a pretty bad influence too
