Do you guys trust Banking with Ally bank. They have some products like high interest checking/saving accounts and high yield CDs compared to others. However a part of me is skeptical since they have no in-person presence. Can anyone share their positive and negative experiences?
Barclays also has online savings accounts at 2.05%, or Goldman Sachs’ Marcus if you trust more Mamés you know
I use it. It's great. Only downside is you can't deposit cash. Hasn't been an issue for me yet.
Online banking is the way to go now. No costs to keep physical locations means more perks for you. Maybe keep one brick and mortar checking account for the flexibility with couple hundred in case, then try to do most of your banking online. Schwab is another good option
I use Simple, which is similar. Love it. Dealing with cash is tougher as are checks but those two cases are rare. We have a wells Fargo acct for thst purpose just in case with very little in it
Love Ally!
Ally does great at promoting their culture on paper. Benefits are great but day to day horrible. My return on investment of what I accomplished this year was met with an average review. Why you might ask? The executive whose last time that spoke to me made the decision. He believes in only big projects big rocks are important. My teams actually service the customers. My groups are not flashy. You have to be part of a big flashy project. My god I am on operations and there is no big rocks projects. I am actually helping customers which the culture allegedly puts first in all decisions. But not when you are stacked racked against others of the same pay grade across the enterprise. I can’t compete with that. At the end of the day my groups keep the customers by providing service that ally wants to be different than other banks.
Been using them for years, Superior banking service versus legacy retail
Damn near instantaneous phone response time too
Yup... Call wait time is right on the home page and it's time to a real person and not just a robot
