Software Engineer in Tools and Infra.. anyone not at google has no idea what they are talking about. SETI doesn’t need to reinterview to be a SWE at google. You also will not be creating unit test just frameworks for engineers to write test. The only company where this title is something different. They also have Software Engineer in Test that is something completely different.
Don't know what you're complaining about ... looking for aliens sounds like a pretty sweet gig to me

Nope. But I know ppl. Same interview bar as SWE with design qns etc. But slightly more focus on testing. They are essentially SWEs, just that they don't work on client facing apps like SWE.
