SF is a joke of a city. For all the large tech companies here and the wealth that tech has created, we instead have dirty, feces infested streets, piss smells everywhere, a bart system more than 20 years old (for fucks sakes i loaded my clipper card online and it says amount available in 2-3 days and only if i tag my card at a bart station). Caltrain is a joke (but better than bart). SF should be an example to the rest of the world of what’s possible when so many talented people aggregate in one dense location. Instead we have decades old technology and shit infested streets. Where do our taxes go? When you’re taking 10+% of all these 6 figure salaries, there’s no reason the city should be in the state it is... Everybody seems to want change but no one does anything about it. We all just look down and walk fast when the homeless start hurling trash at us. All of us absorbed in our own little bubble
SF is shit. South Bay is good ✌️
South Bay is just fine, my dude. Mountain view is a great area.
The best part is SF has a higher city budget per capita than some states.
Here’s an unpopular opinion that would never fly with the majority liberals in the city. I understand no one chooses to be homeless, but we should round them all up. Those who are honestly just in a bad situation, provide them with temporary housing to help them get back on their feet and provide them with jobs, doesnt matter if theyre low paying. Those who are mentally ill should be put in a mental institution to get the care they need. The drug addicts should be placed in forced rehab to help them get clean. The drug dealers should go to jail period like all other drug dealers over the country. For example, police right now occasionally go into tenderloin and round everyone up and then release them right away. How does that make sense? They’re back on the streets in a few days. I would rather see my tax dollars put towards for example housing the mentally ill and keeping them off the streets than how they’re currently used - washing market street every few days to get rid of the smell of piss. Why are we spending money on the effects of homelessness and not the causes of homelessness?
You answered your own questions: liberals.
Sadly i think thats a big reason. And everyone else is too afraid to come out and disagree with them or we’re considered heartless, cruel, backwards thinking, rude, etc.
Completely agree. But the city officials are too fucking busy with ensuring rights of all the crazies, homeless, drug addicts, and God forbid anyone says anything otherwise. It’s time for liberals to go! My kids are afraid to come to downtown SF because of the shit they see there.
I'm afraid to take my kids downtown because of all the shit I see there....
Seriously^ saw a homeless man follow a random woman on the streets yesterday, pestering her. Do the rights of the homeless outweigh the rights of the working people? At least they should be equal right? We’re giving these homeless crazies the right to terrorize our streets but where is our right to walk down the streets safely without worry?
Majority of Your taxes are going to paying pensions for govt retires
The BART really annoys me. I have to add as well these damn “extensions” to San Jose has started planning in 1981!!! 19....81....!!! And when is the current completion date, 2026. 45 god damn years. Look at China and Japan and the high speed rails they can ramp up in less than one year for fractions of the cost and for multiples of the distance. Why... Dear god why.. and in the end I don’t want a bart extension, I really want a bart revamp. Rip it out and place something new, high tech, fast. This is the parts that make me hate this country (i was born here)
Exactly. Rip this shit out and give us soenthing at least from the 2000’s lol. Is that asking for so much? And for god fucking sake stop using carpet in the trams. Plastic is 10x easier to keep clean
Don't worry, soon the taxes will be 50% but hey you'll have clean streets and cool trains hahaha
Nonsensical laws and regulations that kill jobs for people at the bottom (ex $15/hour minimum wage). Demonization of police who don’t want to enforce laws in fear of backlash or know the city/county attorneys will not prosecute for nonviolent drug crimes. Obsession with gun control, yet zero interest in drug control while drugs kill 10x more people than guns. Corrupt city officials who lie and deceive voters on the ballot (Kamala Harris) while saying they just need a little more money. ^ that’s homelessness in a nutshell
Dude you are not progressive enough
