Been in data analytics for almost 5 years- make ~$65k with potential for 5% annual bonus. Was severely underpaid at a previous job so when I got the offer I jumped but now I’m beginning to think I’m a victim of lack of perspective. Thoughts?
Holy shit.. yes you are. That’s insanely low, what is your degree?
Degree is B.S. in Economics & Mathematics
I’m not familiar with Memphis. But yes, I would be looking for 90 at least.. although 5 YoE should already be into six.You should get a graduate level degree though
Start looking
You’re a victim of lack of experience and salary negotiation skills. Also, tbh, a BS in math/economics isn’t gonna take you too far. Get an MS for higher salaries.
Whenever this question is asked, the answer is always yes.
Depends..are u working part time 2 days a week?
Interview elsewhere. If you get a higher offer, you are underpaid. If you cannot, you are paid exactly right.
Exactly, everyone on this forum is paid exactly what they should be paid. Skills and experience are worthless unless you can articulate your value and negotiate your compensation.
Look on glassdoor for avg pay for your role. If you work in a big company you can see on avg how much your peers make
65k for Memphis is a good enough TC
Start interviewing, unfortunately employers will always base their pay above on what you previously made. You should be making at least $100K as senior, read, learn, build your case, and gun for more.
