Am I being unreasonable by not letting my girlfriend watch 90 day fiance in the living room?
I'll be honest, the reality TV show 90 Day Fiance drives me crazy. It's so stupid. I feel dumber each minute I have to watch or listen to that show. I recently told my girlfriend she can't watch it in the living room when I'm home, and now she's mad at me. Am I being unreasonable? I can't stand that show and feel that it's fair for her to go to the bedroom to watch in there.
??? Tell her to use BT headphones and let her watch? Man for a bunch of techies some people on here really can’t solve problems.
Not watching with her = reasonable. Telling her she can’t watch it when you are home = unreasonable.
My girlfriend watches a lot of reality tv ironically. And the whole time she’s watching it, she’s pointing out ridiculous aspects of living in the south, or backwards logic from an 800lb girl who thinks vegetarian pizza is good for you. I think it’s funny through this lens, but if she was watching it as it’s presumably meant to be watched, I think I’d blow my brains out.
I'm at the "blow my brains out" level. Oddly enough my girlfriend is getting her PhD and is objectively smarter than me, yet she LOVES this trash. We live in an apartment and I don't know what to do.
Holy shit are you me. My girlfriend is pursuing masters and also objectively smarter than me. I’ll watch a little and then go play video games in another room. The concept of her watching it doesn’t bother me but it gives me a headache so I avoid.
OP is a dick. Learn to compromise or she will leave you. Learn to pick battles.

I empathize, my husband loves the jersey shore and big brother. I just go up to my room to read and leave him to it. I can’t stand the stupidity. He is a doctor too.
Sometimes you just want to watch guilty pleasure TV that requires zero thinking. Even if that means watching stupid people do stupid things on TV. Stop taking yourself so seriously and enjoy it. It’s escapism from the seriousness of life.
He says the same thing too, in general I don’t like tv programming. Movies and highly scripted are my thing
