Had an initial interview with Amazon that i felt went well. Got an LC easy and an LC medium and solved both. They got back next day asking to do a 2nd phone screen focused on leadership principles with a manager. Is a 2nd phone screen standard process or does the 2nd phone screen mean that the first phone interviewer was on the fence?
It's a different interview to check if you know their 14 leadership principals and can apply them IRL.
It happens if they are not certain in the first one.
but if they were't certain in the first one, wouldn't my second interview be another coding round to get better signal on coding? The round they scheduled is LP and no coding.
I was also expecting the same but instead I had one more coding round.I think it all depends on the interviewer, so I ended up giving 2 phone screens, both coding.
Only if you’re not compelling the first time.

Google CFO confirms 'large-scale' layoffs (Apr 17)
I think it's normal, I got two phone screen with Amazon several month ago and then did onsite, but I didn't get the offer in the end.
