What to expect in amazon bar raiser round ? What kind of questions go in leadership principles questions? I can understand how to prepare for Algorithm DSA and tech but not very sure how to prepare this round !

Bar raiser...lol

Same stuff. Bar raiser is just a person from a different team to ensure company bar remains same.

Someone who seems out of normal Q&A and arrogant in the loop is a bar raiser. Similar type of questions but can piss you off easily

In short, the one who behaves like an asshole.

usually it’s the opposite. The bar raiser is the most experienced interviewer and knows how to do a good interview. The new college grad or new hire who thinks they are the best thing since sliced bread tend to be the worst.

You should expect a normal round. Difficulty of questions depend on the level you are interviewing for, that is all. Bar raiser’s job is to make sure that that people in the hiring loop uphold the company hiring bar - technical and leadership. The bar raiser is certainly not trying to piss you off, that’s nonsense.

Bar raisers are folks with significant interviewing experience who participate in the interview loop and lead the debrief. Their goal is to ensure the hiring manager is not lowering the bar for that level and that the process is fair in general. Hiring managers may not have experience at amazon or in hiring at a certain level. Bar raises get a veto vote on a hire. You should not have to prepare differently for the BR loop.

Why are they not doing their job then? 😂😂

Microsoft Sanctiel Oct 19, 2018

You do just the same as what you would do in other interviews. Try to be the best they’ve interviewed for that role and get the job. Nothing different.
