I have upcoming phone interview scheduled with Amazon for Data engineer position. Any pointers on which topics I should prepare for?
What's the usual job responsibility? SQL monkey? Writing queries all day long...
8+ years of experience with and detailed knowledge of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding
My impression is that DEs do write a lot of queries, but also work on data infrastructure and setting up access to data sources. They might also be part of design and planning of data storage/processing systems, but I'm not completely sure. Your recruiter should be able to give you more info, hopefully... EDIT: pretty sure DE is the L5 BI engineer title, so depending on the team, your job may be in part producing automated business data reports for product and mgmt.
The hiring team is AWS Finance Central Economics
