I'm expecting an offer for a Director L8 non-tech position, either in Seattle or Vancouver (due to visa). I have 20 YOE running engineering organizations, what can I expect as TC in Seattle or in Vancouver?
20 years and still no Visa? Must be Indian.
No, Canadian. Would be moving from Canada to Seattle.

Non tech could mean a lot of roles with a variance of +/- 50%
500-600k
nice! congrats! what roles r there in vancouver that are non tech!
Not a role specific to Vancouver, it is for Worldwide operations.
how do u search for non tech roles like that and can work in vancouver? all the non tech roles i saw are in seattle
I kind of doubt that there are any L8 non-tech positions in Vancouver, but maybe they create one for you. I know from a bunch of L6 SDMs that it's damn hard to move up to L7 in Vancouver due to the lack of L8 supervision... maybe you may help them. If we assume 550k USD TC in Seattle for non-tech L8, I would use the default calculation of converting the USD figure into CAD and multiplying with 0.7, which would amount to 385k CAD TC approx.
there will be a 30% discount on TC in vancouver?
The actual Vancouver discount after tax is about 50% when compared to Seattle, as you need to consider the USD->C$ exchange rate as well. I'm deriving this from the usual TC differences in L4/5 SDE and L6 SDM compensation. I'm aware that higher level TC consists of more USDs due to the stock appreciation, but still think there is a clear pattern.
