Amazon India - SDE 2 offer
Amazon Offer: SDE2 Base : 25 TC : 37 YOE: 4.5 Currently sde1 with TC 23 at Flipkart. Was most certainly looking at a promotion, which I probably threw away because of a lack of interest shown by me. (Appraisal cycle is happening rn) Amazon interviews went really well. Pretty sure every round was an incline, and a chance of design round being a strong incline. Bar raiser was happy as well. Could I negotiate for more? And how? Thanks Update: Negotiated to 40 TC (26 base) I realize now that I had enough leverage. Should’ve gone for 45 but I played it safe. No worries, I’m happy with the offer! Thanks guys!
You stand a chance to negotiate if you have an offer from another company. Tough luck otherwise
Did you interview with Uber? Amazon definitely has potential to pay you at least 45 lpa seeing your interview perf and 4.5 yoe. Amazon pays 30 lpa for 2 yoe. You stand a chance for negotiation but 50% hike is also worth a move to Amzn.
I have seen people with 3 yoe ( newly promoted sde 2) get between 32 - 35. You could ask for 40, but you would need good leverage for that and 23 ctc at flipkart does fit the profile. Better try other high paying companies like Uber, DE Shaw, Microsoft and renegotiate. (Time would be a factor)
TC of 65 LPA I can confirm! Not kidding.
Pls break down fixed or cash part. 65L for 4 years experience would be rare unless you are counting multiple years of RSUs or options.
Have a offer and try to renegotiate they are trying to low-ball you. In my team there are new joinees much junior to you and having CTC around 45LPA ..and they non e-commerce background
But I have 4 days to accept/reject the offer. I have interviews lined up with Uber and google next week. Can I renegotiate weeks after accepting the offer??
I do not think there is some time line to accept the offer. You start negotiating the salary and meanwhile go for others organization interview . Always try to negotiate for higher base as well as RSU ..and on RSU negotiate hard ..not for signing bonus .as in Amazon year appraisal is in single digits
Guys how is base salary decided at Amazon? What can be the maximum base for 6 yoe for sde 2 role?
More important question is if you are doing well at Flipkart and see a path forward and are enjoying it, why would you want to move?
How about 50% hike to start with?
