Hi, I have a phone interview scheduled with Amazon. The role is for Instock Manager in Seattle. I'm speaking with a few different divisions. Looking for tips to help me through the interviews. How can I best prepare and what types of questions can I expect? This is my first time interviewing with a retailer that is heavily involved in tech and I want to know if the interview style is different from the ones held by traditional retailers.
Study up on the Amazon leadership principles.
Donât work here it is the worst
Its bad but still better than most of the company
If you do decide to come save every RSU like it will disappear tomorrow since it might with our 10% dev plan bullshit
Prepare 6-7 very strong stories with clear impact for the leadership principles. Ideally each story can cover 2-3 LPs. They might have some mini case questions related to retail business or instock but nothing crazily difficult. e.g. how do you evaluate an end of life discounted buy from a vendor.
Read up on star method for answering questions and structure your stories in that format.
If you are a naturally aggressive person, have strong character, good at debation or super smart then working at Amazon will be fun. Otherwise it is quite tiring.
+1 on all the comments about having solid stories for every single leadership principle.
Fuck you. My phone notified my about this post and for a second I thought I got an email from Amazon regarding an interview. What that being said, best of luck đ
