Amazon Interview Experience Feedback

I have interviewed at Amazon recently (on-site). I had 4 interviews. Each had technical part and the behavioural part. I aced the technical part. But, for multiple behavioural questions, I took examples from the same project. ( I am a student. Applied for SDE1).

The individual interviewers were saying the example is good. But I am afraid if the hiring manager goes through all of them, he/she will find that I used the same experience for many questions. (My last interview was with the hiring manager)

I want to know how the interviews are evaluated. Will the hiring manager alone decide ? Will there be a meeting with the interviewers ?

Will the interviewers give their opinion on a candidate or will they just record their observations in an interview and pass it on to the hiring manager ?

What is the time frame ? How long would it normally take to get an update ?

Each of the interviewer, including the hiring manager will write the feedback as detailed as possible and submit along with their decision of inclined or not inclined. Then they all sit in a room and briefly discuss whether to offer the role or not or if they have to downlevel( not applicable for SDE1s).

Not usually on the same day as the interview unless the BR/BRIT is not available for the following 5 business days

Do they follow up with rejections as fast as they do with candidates they want ?

I don't think so...... it is required to provide decision within five business days.

Unless the candidate is an extreme case (Where everyone were wowed and immediately performed the debrief after). This applies to both yes and no lol

I got a mail from the recruiter saying they want to give their feedback regarding on-site interview. This is the 2nd day after the interview. What can this mean ?

I think using 1 experience for answering multiple questions is perfectly fine. I did the same thing and got an offer fro Amazon.

Different teams prioritize different things, and that's one of the problems with Amazon's hiring process. System design often isn't all that important for a lot of ops-heavy teams, even at SDE2.

This is why team transfer loops here are often so formal and thorough (unless most of the people on the new team are former coworkers)--nobody trusts anybody else to hire what they're looking for.

As for the OA: some of the "hard" questions in the OA bank are absurdly difficult...requiring 100+ line brute force solutions or particularly obscure/arcane optimized approaches. Most manual code reviewers (and I'm one of them) have been pushing back on that one, which is why you can often get through without solving it (just at least make an attempt).

Is that really a problem for a student/SDE1? How much experience are you expected to have?
