Anyone out there been through the design interview loop/process? I’d like to hear what you went through and/or any tips regarding what you would have done differently.
Phone screens for me were enjoyable conversations. Onsite was brutal, but worth it. 60min portfolio presentation that featured many interruptions and people tapping away on laptops. 1:1’s were a barrage of behavioral questions, the last one was conversational but mostly it was...not. Whiteboarding exercise about a kayak app, administered by a guy wearing gym shorts. I asked a lot of “product manager” questions when basically the dude wanted Pokémon Go for kayaks. Was surprised to get an offer. I thought I handled it well but that they were seeking something else.
Mine was identical to this lol
I went through a telephonic design interview in which I was asked to verbally design an app that allows users to choose a restaurant and place and order. The other design question was to solve a use case where a user wants to buy a laptop from the amazon website but wants to pay using their Delta miles.
