I’d think 5-10% lower than SDE.. not significantly lower afaik

L6 Pmt is quite lower than L6 sde. So much so that its almost comparable to L5 sde, but slightly higher.

Then PM business is like L4 SDE?

More like start of Sde2 band since the band is itself quite wide. Do note that they just happen to be where they are but are not correlated. Sde and pm are very different skill sets and the TC is based solely on their respective demand and supply gaps and not because one has been placed lower than the other.

PMs at level=N are compensated like SDEs at level=N-1. This isn’t exact, but close enough to be the only comparison worth remembering.

Meanwhile, PMTs make about 10% more than PMs.

You’re right, I meant TC. Sorry for the confusion.

Since RSU/bonuses are such a normal part of income within the social circles I live in, we would say “base” or “base salary” to discuss non-rsu pay. When discussing compensation, I almost always mean TC and have gotten used to interchanging income, salary, TC with each other.
