I got an offer from Amazon for the position of L6 TPM in Seattle Base: 155K RSU: 70 (4 years) Sign on: 45 K (1st year) 40K (second year) Relocation: 15K I have 20 YOE and make 184K TC in texas. I have 1 counter offer of 220K in NJ. The amazon recruiter said that there is very little room for negotiation. I really feel that I’m being lowballed. How much can I negotiate? Is this a good offer?
Is it for a position in Seattle?
Yes. I updated my post as well.
Don't think it's lowball. AFAIK, that's how much TPMs make. L6 engineers and engineering managers make more.
That's great TC for an IC role.
If Amazon ok. If AWS, low ball
Oh btw, 185 in Texas is worth a lot more. Honestly, I wouldn't come here.
Amazon and AWS don't really give different compensations. What the fuck are you even talking about.
Exactly. Texas has no state tax and housing is 50% of Seattle
No State tax in WA either. This is a great offer.
Think you can get 20-30 k more. Base will not move. Try asking for more sign on.
I searched blind and I found this “150k base + 110k sign on + 150k RSU” https://us.teamblind.com/s/5Wm42LcW maybe this is an extreme case.
Very ironically and surprisingly the guy who posted that thread is also Doremon. Now what are the odds of that lol
