I was told I'll be receiving an offer from Amazon for an L7 Principal Product Manager role in the NY office. YoE: 8 What should I expect as the TC - base, bonus, RSUs? Which part of the comp package tends to be most negotiable?
Stock is negotiable. TC - $350 should be solid offer. Upper end is about ~400k.
8 yoe. That's pretty cool. I know people with 20+ yoe working as a principal PM at Amazon. What does your work experience looks like?
Yes. Very impressive. Expectations are high and you’ll get a ton of opportunity to present to executives.
Thanks! I've only ever worked at startups ranging from super early stage (my own) to series E. Although I haven't worked at the scale present at Amazon I have been through a number of 0-1 cycles launching new products and businesses to global markets, and I'm very comfortable operating with massive amounts of ambiguity and high stakes (i.e. company going bust or not). Are expectations perhaps too high? I've heard Amazon fires fast if people aren't living up to expectations and if the typical L7 has much more experience than I currently have I'd be concerned I'm setting myself up for failure. I'm in a really good position at my current company, so I would hate to leave just to become a fast-fire at Amazon. Obviously that's a hard question to answer for random people on the interwebs who know nothing about me besides this post...
What team?
I just got a call from recruiter for same role, i was told that first two yr annual avg is around 550
