Amazon LP

we all understand that LPs are useful, but would you reject a candidate based on just LPs? does amazon really reject people based on the leadership questions? or do they just help in deciding on the level e.g sde2 or sde 3 etc

You screw up LP, you are not hired.

Can you please give an example? There is no right or wrong answer to any question or is it

You need to align with LPs. You can have weak stories that will downlevel you, but if not aligned it's a no-hire. Eg, a question where you answer "that was another teams problem" means you don't buy into their ownership LP. Or a question on initiative - if you answer I developed some silly script to automate something not part of my JD, you are aligned but it's an entry level example.

LP is pretty important when it comes to hires. I'd say 40% LP

Yep. Final onsite interview is going to be with 5-6 people, and they're all going to be evaluating you on LPs. They take them seriously.

It's a big company, I know I would reject people on leardership questions, not sure if other people will. It never happens though... Every single person will at least fake up a good enough answer to it. Don't sweat on that. Obvously, if you are not SDE, LP is bascially the deciding factor.

Do you practice those LP’s at your job on a daily basis?

I like to tell people, you won't have to work hard to memorize them. They are everywhere

They're taken seriously, probably too seriously.
