Amazon London Offer

I moving to London (first time for me in Europe) and expecting an offer from Amazon. I did quite well in the interviews. 1- Can anybody give me what to expect for the details of the offer? 2- Any tips for negotiation? 3- What should I consider before moving? 4- Will I be able to save anything after accommodation and other expenses? Years of experience: 3 Position: SDE2 Thanks in advance,

Pay will be lower than the US so be prepared. Things to consider are getting both a US and UK accountant up front. Although tax is automatically deducted, if your stocks vest, you might be above the threshold for UK tax and need to file a self-assessment. Rents are high and have seemingly increased over the last month. Asked a letting agent and he said it was due to the fear of Brexit and so landlords want to secure more before the bottom drops out of the economy. Oh yeah Brexit. Read up on it and the impact it might have to food, medicine, etc. The proroguing of Parliament almost ensures a no deal Brexit will happen. It won’t be pretty. Explore a lot of neighbourhoods. Many people like the Shoreditch area because there are a lot of things to do and you are near work. I prefer North London because you have the separation from work and more green spaces/neighbourhood community feel. A lot of people love South London because rents can sometimes be cheaper. Don’t just look at Notting Hill etc. Negotiating, I haven’t heard many success stories on total comp. This is your offer. However I have heard of deals like moving costs etc. Also check the non-compete. A colleague was able to negotiate it because she worked in Video and thereby narrowed the scope of what a competitor was. Also Brexit.

70-100 k GBP TC. Breakdown for 100k: 70k base rest bonus and stocks. With 3 yoe I would expect the lower half of the band.
