I need help evaluating the offer I received from Amazon. Position is a Contracts Manager in Seattle. They haven’t told me the level. Salary-$94K Year 1 sign on bonus-$19,800 Year 2 sign on bonus-$15,500 32 shares of stock with typical vesting schedule I have about 8 yoe. I’d be moving across the country and this doesn’t include the relocation package. What do y’all think? Is it fair?
I would bring up your concerns regarding COL during negotiations to have more justification for the increase you request. Personally because this is a L5 position and due to the COL difference due to moving I would counter with the following. TCT 150k Base 115k Sign on 30k / 20k RSU 40 Reminder relocation package still be separate. Good luck and update if they counter offer :)
Sounds like non tech L5. Pretty good actually as base for L5 program manager can start much lower. Take the relocation package, hands on and not lump sum. It'll subsidize a months rent and help with the transition expenses.
Dumb question, but what does "hands on" entail?
I was an L5 non tech with a base of 110, so just check. I also full support the previous comment to take the package and not the lump.

This is a TERRIBLE offer. I didn't know that any "corporate" jobs at Amazon pay below 100k base. Do not take any offer from Amazon in Seattle for a TC less than 140k. I also noticed that you are a woman (you mentioned "husband" and I assume you are straight). Where are you moving from, and what he your TC there, if you did mind me asking? As a side note, I used to think that the gender pay gap was a myth (I grew up in Ohio), but now I'm starting to see data supporting the gender pay gap. Your situation seems to be a signal towards a gender pay gap actually existing.
Yes, I am a woman and am straight lol My situation is likely different than others since I’m moving from Louisiana and from a privately owned company. TC isn’t a thing here (I actually had to Google what that meant lol). I have an average salary now for what I do (COL is VERY low). But I do get a lot of perks that aren’t taxed like $2.00 lunches, free snacks, soft drinks, etc, my boss is always giving me gift cards to restaurants and other places as a reward for doing well on a project. Also, my company is a former owner of the Hornets (now pelicans), and huge Saints supporter, so I’m always getting court side basketball tickets, tickets to their suite in the Superdome, etc. little things do add up. I might add that I currently work in the oil and gas industry.
Frugality is a Leadership Principle and real at AZ so forget those perks. But there is awesome growth potential at AZ compared to your current company I bet. Tech geeks are so spoiled with their salaries...compare to other companies in SEA offering the same job
I’d say Min 108150k w/ 22.5k Sign on 1st yr.

Seems a little low on base unless it is a Level 4 role. If it is a Level 4 tole then it's good. Do you know what org it is for? Also, you should ask the level.
AWS
Hmm, then I would guarantee that is an L4 role because an L5 would have a much higher base. However, it's super easy once you get in the door to move around and the shift from L4 to L5 is highly acheivable in your first year.
