Amazon PM L6 10 YOE

So I accepted an offer for a Program Manager iii L6 role and have 12 years of experience at top companies. I will be managing a team at Amazon but I notice many people on LinkedIn at Amazon with this title are maybe 5 years out of school at most. Did I get under-leveled? Maybe I can move up faster.

Amazon hierarchy is pretty flat. Don’t compare yourself with someone with 5 yoe. You can be coming in as a high L6. Btw, TC being offered?

$220k they said it was as high as they could go in the band

Sounds about right

How hard would be to move to l7 if I am already managing a team?

Amazon trailblzer Apr 26, 2019

It’s hard to say. Even L5s manage teams at Amazon. Tbh, L7 is a pretty big deal. You’ll really have to stand out

Nah, you did the right thing imo. And yes, PMs are generally ICs
