I just had an on-site loop with Amazon - it wasn't the best but wasn't bad either. I kind of knew it was going to be a no because my background and experience had zero to do with what the team was doing. Took the loop because the recruiter asked and online test/phone interviews are easy to pass since I've done enough LeetCode. I got a no from the recruiter but she said the team recommended me to another team and would get me in touch with a recruiter. I haven't heard back, and the original recruiter ghosting me. Any chance I get another interview or this is just something they like to say? How can I be proactive to get picked up by another team? TC: 150k
Happened to me as well. They may schedule you with another recruiter but best to apply online to postings that interests you. They only say that when you were given hire from bar raiser but HM said no.
Happened to me too. Mine first loop went Very well, but skill set was a bit of mismatch. I did interview with the second team, and again, the skill set was a minor mismatch (since I am coming from a different industry, my function is hybrid of those two functions, but it’s not exact match for either... or I ran into a total hard ass in the second team, Marketing vs BD). Either way, it did not work out. Got contacted by a third team after 2 months. But then the recruiter ghosted me saying the job description has changed. I don’t feel bad, because I have refused to interview with amazon or refused to attend loop in the past, because, I too initially could not understand the functional mapping is different in Amazon /software companies vs the industry I am coming from (roles of BD, vs marketing vs product management)
I always figured that if you can pass the tech bar, the mismatch would be ok. Looks like it's not the case. But then the weird part is that they have my resume so they know my background wasn't a fit. Should've axed me or moved post phone interview. I've also mentioned this to the recruiter before hand but I guess they are not technical enough to know the differences.
It does not cost them personally, they want to keep a healthy pipeline of job applicants “almost” pre-qualified to fit into jobs.
Most likely the team she was referring you to either doesn’t have a role any more, or for some reason wasn’t interested in your profile. Do some of the leg work and find a couple job postings that fit you and then email your first recruiter to ask if they can make intros. The first recruiter will still get partial credit so they will be the most likely to help you
My Amazon recruiter said she'll schedule my onsite for Nov 11th it's been 2 weeks since she said that, neither did she do it nor she's responding to my emails what to do?
They usually send out the full itinerary 3 business days before the interview date.
Why not just tell that instead of not replying to my emails.
Hiring manager didn't want you or the loop felt like your skills weren't up to par for the team, but good enough for another team. Or the hiring manager liked you but there was a better candidate for the same role and not enough HC for two at that level. But probably the bar raiser and other interviewers liked you, hiring manager didn't, so they still want you at Amazon.
The later wouldn't result in a NO hire call, it will be Yes with one more HM round from another team if required
I think you have to interview all over again though

When did you interview? How long it has been since you talked to the recruiter. Generally I think it takes a week or so to hear from another team.
Almost a week for both. I got the results the day after my on-site (they debriefed the day of). I sent a thank you email a day after the results call, and had some follow up questions about the recommendation since on the call, the recruiter didn't give any info on what the recommendation was (i.e. what team). I have the recruiter's cell number but don't want to annoy her more if she's not answering emails.
Typically this just means your profile was recycled to another job posting, and now it’s up to the other team/HM/recruiter to triage and figure out what next steps to take. The interviewing team and recruiter has already handed your profile off, so effectively you’re already off their pipeline.
